Now that the days are getting longer and warmer, most of our hikes will begin at 9 AM. Check the schedule below for each hike’s start time.  

Most Thursdays S.T.P.S. has a work party.

Volunteers are always welcome.

Sat., July 1-Big Woods Bash. 9AM-11AM. 

Meet on the triangle at the intersection of Millstone Brook Road & Scott Road, Southampton. Moderate 4 mile hike through the woods and past some ponds.

Sun., July 2- Sag Harbor Tour. 9AM-11AM.

Join us for an eclectic walk through one of Sag  Harbor’s most historic districts. 1 mile at an easy pace. Meet at the corner of Glover and Main Streets, Sag Harbor.

Thurs., July 6-S.T.P.S. Monthly Meeting. 7PM-9PM.

Sat., July 8-Mashomack Meander. 9AM-11:30AM.

Meet at the North Haven/Shelter Ferry on Rte. 114 .  $5 per person for Preserve donation & ferry.  Moderate 5-mile coastal trail hike with Capt. Bill Schildknecht, 631-725-2888.

 

Sun., July 9-Full Moon Prowl. 7PM-9PM.

Join us for the rising of the almost full Buck Moon.  Meet on Swamp Road approximately ½ mile east of Rte. 114, Sag Harbor. Moderately paced 4-miles, bring a flashlight.

Sat., July 15-Barcelona Neck Trek. 9AM-11:30AM.

Meet at the Sag Harbor Golf Club (off Rte.114), Sag Harbor. Brisk 5 mile hike with views of Sag Harbor Bay and Cedar Point Light.

Sun., July 16-Tuckahoe Swamp Adventure. 9AM-10:30AM.

Meet on Millstone Brook Road, Southampton (opposite Millstone Lane). 2 easy paced miles through a beautiful wetland forest.

Sun., July 16-Hully Gully Hike. 1PM-2:30PM.

Meet on Guyer Road (off Millstone Road), Bridgehampton. Trail head is about ½ mile down on the right side of Guyer Road. A brisk 3 mile hike through the gully, woods, fields and even an ocean view.

Sat., July 22-Red Creek Ramble. 9AM-11AM.

Meet at the parking lot of Red Creek Park on Old Riverhead Road (off of Rt 24), Hampton Bays.  Moderate 3-mile hike with views of Penny Pond.

Sat., July 22-Narrow Lane Cleanup. 8AM-9AM.

Meet at the corner of Narrow Lane and Bridgehampton Tpk. Bring gloves.

Sun., July 23-Long Pond Greenbelt North. 9AM-11AM.

Meet at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor.  Hike 5 miles at a moderate pace. See many ponds along some old historic trails.

Meet at the Park entrance on Millstone Brook Road, Southampton. Views of Big Fresh Pond, Scallop Pond and Wolf Swamp. Easy paced 4 miles. Howard Reisman, 631-283-5376.

 

Sun., July 30-Great Swamp History Tour. 9AM-11AM.

Meet at the intersection of Brick Kiln Road and Highview Drive, Sag Harbor. Explore the history of this unique piece of land. 3 miles at an easy pace.
