Now that the days are getting longer and warmer, most of our hikes will begin at 9 AM. Check the schedule below for each hike’s start time.  

Most Thursdays S.T.P.S. has a work party.

Volunteers are always welcome.

Sat., Aug. 5-Long Pond Greenbelt North Loop. 9AM-11AM.

Meet at Round Pond Lane off of Sagg Road in Sag Harbor. Hike through this glacially created green/pond belt. 5 miles at a brisk pace.

Sun., Aug. 6-Long Pond Greenbelt South Loop. 9AM-11:30AM.

Meet at Poxabogue County Park on Old Farm Road (a little south of Narrow Lane) in Sagaponack. A Greenbelt hike from a different perspective, 5 miles.

Sat., Aug. 12-Mulvihill Preserve. 9AM-11AM.

Meet at Sag Harbor Industries on Bridgehampton Tpk. (south of Gingerbread Bakery). Hike the Paumanok Path and the Mulvihill Loop through swamps and forest. 4 miles at a moderate pace. Joe Lane, 631-725-3943.

 

Sat., Aug, 12- Monthly Work Party.

Sun., Aug. 13-Whiskey Hill. 9AM-10:30AM.

Meet at the end of Mill Path Bridgehampton (off Lopers Path). An ocean view, an enormous glacial erratic and a kettle pond in a nice compact hike.  One and a half miles at a moderate pace. Dianne Rulnick, 631-726-5903.

 

Sat., Aug. 19-Barrel Hill. 9AM-11AM. See the handiwork of our trail crew on this our newest trail.  Meet on Edge of Woods Road (100 feet west of the power line crossing), Southampton. 3 miles, some hills.

Sun., Aug. 20-Double Loop Hike. 9AM-11AM.

Tuckahoe Swamp and Big Loop too.  Wow! 3 miles at a moderate pace. Meet on Millstone Brook Road, opposite Millstone Lane, Southampton. 3 miles, moderate pace.

Sun., Aug. 20-Horses on Trails.  10 AM. 

Meet at Haines Path and Narrow Lane in Sagaponack.  BYO horse; limit 6 riders.  5-mile ride through oak and pitch forest with views of Crooked, Long and Little Long Ponds.

Sat., Aug. 26-Elliston Park Surprise. 9AM-11AM.

Hike the beautiful trails of Elliston with an added bonus. 3 miles, moderate pace. Meet at the park entrance on Millstone Brook Road in Southampton.

Sun., Aug. 27-Sag Harbor Literary Tour. 9AM-11:30AM.

Take a tour through Sag Harbor’s literary past. Meet at Canio’s Book Store on Main Street, Sag Harbor (just south of Glover Street).
