Sat.,Sept.4 – Mulvihill Preserve Rendezvous with Ferns.9:30AM-11:30AM. Meet at Sag Harbor Industries on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, south of Gingerbread Bake Shop. Unique and varied terrain with ponds, streams and hundreds of ferns. Moderately paced 4-5 mile hike. Leader: Joe Lane, 631-725-3942.
Sun.,Sept.5 - Mashomack Preserve. Meet at 9:30 at the North Haven/Shelter Island Ferry. Moderately paced 6-mile hike through meadows, woods, and beaches. Spectacular views of north and south forks. $5.00/person for Ferry and Preserve Donation.

Moderately paced
7-mile hike with a wide range of ecological experiences as you walk through
upland woods, over streams, past creeks, and ponds. At the circle in Riverhead
take Route 24 south into
Flanders.
You will find the right turn for "Spinny
Road North"
on the south side of the road, just east of Birch Creek. Look for a large paved
parking lot with a kiosk.

Sat.,Sept.11 – Dedication Ceremony naming Barcelona Neck in Sag Harbor as the Linda Gronlund Memorial Nature Preserve. 1:30PM. Meet at Sag Harbor Golf Club parking lot on Barcelona Point Road off of Route 114, Sag Harbor. Short hike to follow with views of Sag Harbor Bay, Cedar Point Park, and Mashomack Preserve.

drinking water, the weir where baymen challenged
the water company for the access to hunt eels and alewives, the pond where
‘icemen’ cut and stored
the refrigerant for villagers and New Yorkers and see how the Greenbelt has
survived
to be acclaimed one of NY State’s rarest habitats for nature.

Thurs.,Sept.23 – Laurel Valley Meander. 5:30PM-7PM. Meet at the kiosk located on Deerfield Road in Noyac across from Deerwood Path (North Side Hills). Fast-paced hike through wooded knolls and laurel-filled ravines. Hilly terrain.

Sat.,Sept.25 – Long Pond Greenbelt Horseback Ride. 10AM-Noon. BYO Horse. Meet on Narrow Lane south of Haines Path in Bridgehampton. Leisurely ride with views of Long Pond, Little Long Pond, and Crooked Pond.
