Sat., April 5-Long Pond Greenbelt South Ramble. 9AM-11AM. Meet at the South Fork Natural History Society (SOFO) Museum parking lot on Bridgehampton Turnpike  200 yards north of the RR tracks. Fast paced five-mile hike through grasslands and oak forest with numerous water views.

Sun., April 6-Tour of Sag Harbor’s Religious Past. 12:30PM-2:30PM. Five churches, one synagogue and a few surprises.  Meet by the windmill on Long Warf.  Moderately paced. Leader: Tony Garro, 631-725-5861.


Tues., April 8-STPS Monthly Meeting. 7PM-9PM. Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road. Guest Speaker: Southampton Town Councilman Steve Kenny. 

All are welcome!


Thurs., April 10-Pine Neck Park Perambulation. 10:30AM –11:30PM. Meet at entrance on Head of Lots Road in East Quogue. Leisurely hike with views of marshlands, Weesuck Creek and Shinnecock Bay.

Sat., April 12-Narrow Lane Cleanup. 8AM-9AM. Help us cleanup the litter from our adopted road.  Meet on east side of Bridgehampton Turnpike and Narrow Lane. Bring gloves.

Sat., April 12-Paumanok Path to Windmill Hill Excursion. 10AM-12:30PM. Meet at Sag Harbor Industries on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, south of Gingerbread Bake Shop. Moderately paced 5-mile hike through oak forest with views of glacial erratics and kettleholes. Hilly terrain.

Sun., April 13-Whiskey Hill Loop Traverse. 10AM-11:00AM. Meet at intersection of Millstone Road and Lopers Path, Bridgehampton. Moderately-paced 1 1/2 mile hike-past two kettlehole ponds and an enormous glacial erratic, and end with ocean views from 219’ high lookout above the morraine. Hilly terrain.

Sat., April 19–Flanders Loop Trail Hike. 10AM-12:30PM. Meet on Red Creek Road in Hampton Bays, 100 yards from Route 24.  Fast-paced 5-6 mile hike with numerous water views, a waterfall and several ponds. See Black Duck Lodge.

Sun., April 20-Elliston Park Trek. 10AM-Noon. Meet at entrance on Millstone Brook Road, Southampton for a moderately paced 3-4 mile hike. Views of Big Fresh Pond, Wolf Swamp and Scallop Pond. Leader:

Sun., April 20-Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Noon-1PM.. Meet at Poxabogue Park south of the railroad trestle on Old Farm Road in Bridgehampton. Children 8 years and under. Bring basket.

Thurs., April 24-Hubbard Creek Osprey Hike. 10:30AM-Noon. Meet on Red Creek Road in Hampton Bays, 100 yards from Route 24. Brisk hike to the bay.  See Black Duck Lodge, an osprey nest and the ghost forest.

Sat., April 26-Annual Great East End Cleanup. 9AM until we’re finished. Meet on Majors Path and Cove Neck Estates to help pick up the garbage from illegal dumping on a section of the Paumanok Path. Bring gloves and water.

Sat., April 26-Red Creek Park Meander. 10AM-Noon. Meet at the parking lot on Old Riverhead Road, Hampton Bays.  Moderately paced 5-6 mile hike with views of Penny Pond.

Sun., April 27-Long Pond Greenbelt North Hike. 10AM –12:30PM. Meet at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor. Moderately -paced hike with spectacular views of Long Pond, Little Long Pond, and Crooked Pond.

Sun., April 27-Long Pond Greenbelt Horseback Ride. 10AM-Noon. BYO Horse. Limit 6 horses. Call for reservations. Leisurely ride with views of Long Pond and Crooked Pond. Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-537-0660.
