Sat., July 6-Dragonflies of the Long Pong Greenbelt. 10AM-Noon. Call for meeting place. Joint hike with the South Fork Historical Society (SOFO). Slow, interpretive walk. Did you know there are almost 50 species of damselfly and dragonfly species? Come see these jewels up close. Bring binoculars.

Sun., July7-Barcelona Neck Excursion. 

 9AM-11:30PM. Meet at Sag Harbor Golf Club parking lot on Barcelona Point Road off of Route 114, Sag Harbor. Moderately brisk 4-5 mile hike with views of Sag Harbor Bay, Northwest Creek and Harbor, Cedar Point Park, and Mashomack Preserve.

Sat., July 13-Conscience Point Bike Hike.
9AM-10:30AM. BYO bike. Meet at boat ramp parking lot on Conscience Point Road (off of North Sea Road) for a pleasant bike ride to the beach. Short, easy hike to a beautiful bluff with a downslide. Views of Cow Neck, Scallop Pond, Homes' Hill and Little Peconic  Bay with Robins Island, and Jessup's Neck. Leader: Claude Debeaumon, 631-728-8667.


Sun., July 14-Paumanok Path Walk.

8AM-10AM. Meet at parking lot of Sag Harbor Industries on the Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, south of Gingerbread Bake Shop. Brisk, fast-paced 4-5 mile hike through Oak Forest and glacial erratics to a humongous sand mine.

Sat., July 20-Narrow Lane Cleanup.

9:30AM-10:30AM. Help us clean up the litter from our adopted road.  Meet on Narrow Lane, and east corner of Bridgehampton Turnpike. Bring gloves.

*Sat., July 20-David Sarnoff Preserve Hike.

 9:30AM-2PM. Joint hike with Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference (LIGTC). Meet at the Preserve parking lot on the west side of County Road 104 in Riverhead. (From Riverhead circle take C.R. 104 south approximately 2 miles. From Sunrise Highway heading east, take Exit 63 (C.R. 31 North) to C.R. 104 North). Hike 7 miles of majestic and somewhat alien preserve. Bring lunch and water for a picnic at Wildwood Lake. Moderately paced hilly hike. Bring bathing suit for an optional swim.

Sun., July 21-Hubbard Creek/Sears Bellows Saunter.

 8AM-10AM. Meet on Red Creek Road in Hampton Bays, 100 yards from Route 24. Easy-paced hike with numerous water views, a waterfall and several ponds. See Black Duck Lodge.

Sat., July 27-Elliston Park Trek,

10AM-Noon. Meet at the Park entrance on Millstone Brook Road in Southampton for a moderately paced hike with views of Wolf Swamp and Big Fresh Pond.

Sun., July 28-Laurel Valley Traverse.

 9AM-10:30AM. Meet at the kiosk located on Deerfield Road in Noyac across from Deerwood Path (North Side Hills). Fast-paced hike through wooded knolls and laurel-filled ravines. Hilly terrain.
