Sat. Feb. 2 –Ground Hog Day Hike in the Long Pond Greenbelt. 10:00 AM - Noon. Meet at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor. Moderately paced hike. Spectacular winter views of the East End’s best pond system.

Sun. Feb. 3 – Seal Haul Out Walk. 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Meet at Camp Hero Road, a right turn off Route 27, about a mile east of Deep Hollow Ranch in Montauk. Moderately paced hike through Maritime Forest and bring your binoculars to look for seals sunning themselves on the rocks. Dress warmly.

Sat. Feb. 9 – Barcelona Neck Excursion. 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Meet at Sag Harbor Golf Club parking lot on Barcelona Point Road off of Route 114, Sag Harbor. Moderately brisk 4-5 mile hike with views of Sag Harbor Bay, Northwest Creek and Harbor, Cedar Point Park, and Mashomack Preserve.

Sun. Feb. 10 – Quiet Observation.  11:00 AM -1:00 PM.  Meet at the kiosk on Deerfield Road, Noyac across from Deerwood Path (North Side Hills). Hilly terrain. Bring binoculars and a snack to enjoy a peaceful hike to observe birds and other wildlife at a beautiful Kettlehole in the woods.

*Thurs. Feb. 14 – Valentine’s Day Touch The Sky Hike. 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Meet at the kiosk at Suffolk Community College, Speonk-Riverhead Road in Riverhead, Parking Field #1. Moderately paced hike with one steep incline to Bald Hill. Awesome panoramic views.

Sat. Feb. 16 - Narrow Lane Cleanup. 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM. Help us cleanup the litter on our adopted road.  Meet on Narrow Lane and Bridgehampton Turnpike. Bring gloves.


Sat. Feb. 16 – Trout Pond /Clam Island Perambulation.  10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.  Meet at Trout Pond parking lot on Noyac Road across from Mill Road for an easy, moderately paced 3-4 mile hike around historic Trout pond and Clam Island County Park with views of Morton Wildlife Refuge.

Sun. Feb. 17 – Grace Estate Loop. 10:00 AM - Noon. Meet at the schoolhouse plaque on Northwest Road, East Hampton, 3/10 mile from intersection with Alewife Road for a brisk hike with bay views.

*Mon. Feb. 18 – President’s Day Hike. 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Meet at Spinny Road, Flanders. Moderately paced hike on varied terrain. A visual feast on your day off. See Maple Swamp and Owl Pond.

Wed., Feb. 20 – STPS 11th Annual Dinner and Raffle. 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM.  Southampton Publick House.  $35.00 ticket includes gratuities & 2 raffles.

*Sat. Feb. 23 – Sears Bellows County Park. 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.  Meet at the Route 24 NY State rest area in Flanders. Follow the Paumanok Path through the center of this beautiful park.

Sun. Feb. 24 –Laurel Valley Trek. 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Meet at the kiosk on Deerfield Road, Noyac across from Deerwood Path (North Side Hills). Moderately hilly terrain. Brisk figure eight hike through wooded knolls & laurel-filled ravines.
