Back by popular demand .... the East Hampton Trail Maps!

 

For the last few months STPS has been offering a really fine selection of hikes.  It’s a great time to “check them out” Take a hike with the group located in the middle if the Paumanok Path.


Sat., Nov. 3 – Grace Estate Traverse. 10AM-Noon. Meet at the schoolhouse plaque on Northwest Road, East Hampton, 3/10 mile from intersection with Alewife Road. Moderate hike with bay views of Cedar Point lighthouse and Mashomack Preserve.

Sun., Nov. 4 – Great Hill Hike. 10AM-Noon.  Meet on top of Great Hill Road, Southampton near the Radio Tower. Beautiful, moderate hike through oak/pine forest.

Sat., Nov. 10 – Veterans Day Hike, A Patriotic Walk through Sag Harbor History.  10AM - Noon.  Meet at the windmill on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. Learn about Sag Harbor’s Battle Sites, War Heroes, and Famous Veterans.

Sun., Nov. 11 – Atlantic Golf Course Gully Hike. 10AM-11AM. Hike down a steep incline into Southampton’s most peculiar trail system and then up again for dramatic views of Bridgehampton and the ocean beyond.  This is a unique hike – an experience.

Sat., Nov. 17 – Trout Pond and Clam Island Traverse. 10AM-11:30AM. Meet at Trout Pond parking lot on Noyac Road across from Mill Road for an easy 3-4 mile hike. Learn about historic Trout pond and the Clam Island County Park.  Views of Morton Wildlife Refuge.  Leader: Ken Bieger, 631-283-5432.


Sun., Nov. 18 – Long Pond Greenbelt Hike. 10AM - Noon. Meet at the parking lot in Mashashimuet Park, Sag Harbor. Brisk hike along ponds and an abandoned RR spur.

Fri., Nov. 23 – Annual Walk-It-Off Walk. 10:30-Noon. Meet at the Gingerbread Bake Shop on Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike for a fast-paced hike to shed that Thanksgiving stuffing.

Sat., Nov. 24 – Barcelona Neck Ramble. 10AM - Noon. Meet at Sag Harbor Golf Club parking lot on Barcelona Point Road off of Route 114, Sag Harbor. Moderate hike with views of Sag Harbor Bay, Northwest Creek and Harbor, Cedar Point Park, and Mashomack Preserve. Leader: Jill Barber 631-725-4588.


Sun., Nov. 25 – Laurel Valley Hike. 10AM - 11:30AM. Meet at the kiosk located on Deerfield Road in Noyac across from Deerwood Path (North Side Hills). Brisk hike through wooded knolls & laurel-filled ravines. Hilly terrain.
