COUNTDOWN to COMPLETION the PAUMANOK PATH in SOUTHAMPTON:

SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 8:00am – 9:00a.m.

Tuckahoe Hill.  Meet at Tuckahoe School in Southampton.  Parking lot is located on the corner of North Magee Street and Sebonac Road.  Spectacular view, over Cow Neck, of the Peconic Bay and Robins Island.  Two-mile hike.  

Directions: Montauk Hwy. to light at N. Magee St. (just past Fletchers Bake Shop, east of Southampton College), Travel north ½ mile to parking lot on corner of N. Magee and Sebonac Rd.

SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 9:30a.m.  - 12:30 p.m.  

Big Woods to Great Hill Road.  Meet at the intersection of Millstone Brook Road and Scott Road.

This hike will explore the newest addition to the trail, a six-mile section from Sebonac Creek to Great Hill Road.  Walk through a beautiful beech forest with views of Sebonac Creek, marshes, Big Fresh Pond, Peconic Bay and the North Fork.  Pack lunch and water.

Directions: Follow North Sea Road past Big Fresh Pond and turn onto Millstone Brook Road.

SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 1:00p.m.  - 2:00p.m.Laurel Valley County Park. 

Three miles of wooded knolls and laurel-filled ravines in the Noyac area.  If the Laurels are in bloom, partake of a stunning display of pink and white blossoms.  Meet at the kiosk on Deerfield Road opposite the Deerwood Path entrance to North Side Hills.  It is just south of Noyac Road.

SATURDAY, JUNE 3, 2:30 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Brick Kiln Road to the Long Pond Greenbelt

Scenic ponds, chestnut oak forest, knob and kettle woodlands.
Directions: Parking will be where Brick Kiln Rd. bends at the intersection with Stony Hill Road.

SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 5P.M. – 7P.M.  Long Pond Greenbelt

Meet at the SOFO Museum on Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike.  See Crooked Pond and Long Pond.

Meet at the kiosk on Deerfield Road across from Northside Hills.  Views of Peconic Bay.

Breeding Birds of the Long Pond Greenbelt

Meet on Widow Gavitts Road and Sagg Road and Sagg Road.  Bring binoculars and field guide.
