Rolling hills, beautiful lake, with optional swim.

Meet at the parking lot closest to the Suffolk Community College entrance; Parking Field 1.  This is one of the nicest sections of the Paumanok Path.  It has well-executed switchbacks with inspiring panoramic views.  You walk on a spongy leaf layer that protects the root systems under foot and your knees and ankles above.  We will stop at Wildwood Lake for a swim.  The terrain is hilly and the pace will be moderate.  Wear light colored clothing and the use of insect repellent is suggested.  Bring food, liquid and swimsuit.  Directions: From Sunrise Highway exit 61 travel east on C.R. 51 (Moriches Riverhead Road) to Speonk-Riverhead Rd (on right).  Turn into the Suffolk County Community College eastern campus (on right), then make first possible left, and then the first right into Parking Field 1.  Continue straight ahead to the kiosk.  From the Riverhead traffic circle take CR 63 to CR 51 west (Speonk Riverhead Rd. on left).
