Sunday, August 6.  10:00 AM to1:00 PM.  

Meet at Tuckahoe School parking lot on the corner of Sebonac Road and North Magee Street.

Views of Peconic Bay, Robins Island and Big Fresh Pond.  Optional swim.

Directions: Montauk Hwy. to light at N. Magee St. (just east of Fletchers Bake Shop, east of Southampton College – Sunoco station on opposite corner), Travel north ¼ mile to parking lot on corner of N. Magee and Sebonac Rd. at Tuckahoe School in Southampton.

Saturday, August 12 – Laurel Valley – 5:00PM – 7:00 PM

There is a kiosk on Deerfield Road opposite the entrance to North Side Hills (Deerwood Path).  It is just south of Noyac Road, 4-5 miles north of Montauk Highway.  There is room for several cars to park on the shoulder of the road.  Views of Peconic Bay.  If you have never walked through laurel woods, this is an experience you should not miss.


Saturday, August 19, Paumanok Path at Flanders, 10:00 AM to Noon.

Meet at Spinny Road on the south side of Route 24.

Saturday, August 26 Paumanok Path to Penny Pond 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Meet at NYS Parking Area, north side of Route 24 immediately west of Red Creek Road.  Hike Hubbard Creek area to Penny Pond.

Sunday, August 27, Elliston Park Traverse.  10:00 AM – Noon

Meet at the park entrance on Millstone Brook Road, Southampton.  See Big Fresh Pond, Wolf Swamp, and Scallop Pond.

Directions: Montauk Hwy.  to light at N. Magee St. (just east of Fletchers Bake Shop, east of Southampton College – Sunoco station on opposite corner.)  Head north on Magee Street.  Pass Tuckahoe School on your right.  Cross over Sebonac Road, continue on North Magee Street until you reach a five–way intersection.  Make a right turn onto Millstone Brook Road.  After you travel a short distance, you will find on the left side of the road the Nature Conservancy’s Marguerite Crabbe Greef Wildlife Sanctuary at Big Woods.  Further down the road there is a triangle formed by Millstone Brook Road and Scott Street, continue on Millstone Brook Road (bear to the right).  Continue ¼ mile, the park is on the right.
