THE CEDAR POINT PARK HIKE

TERRAIN: GENTLY ROLLING HILLS

Bring an ample supply of water and plenty to eat.  I also suggest that you bring a bathing suit, towel, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.

Directions: On Montauk Highway heading east you will see the Wainscott town sign.  Pass Daniels Hole Road (this is the road for the East Hampton Airport.)  Take the next left turn (North) Stephen Hands Path.  Bear left onto Old Northwest Road.  Stay on Old NW RD until you reach Northwest Road.  Make a right onto Northwest Road; take it to the end, then make a left onto Alewive Brook Road.  Make a quick right onto Cedar Point Road.  You are now in the Park.  Use the Parking lot by the office.

You can walk a self-guided nature trail.  Guidebooks are available at the Park Office.

Call Main Beach Surf and Sport for information about boat rentals at the park.  The Main Beach launch site is by the picnic area facing Northwest Harbor.   They rent canoes and kayaks.  This is an excellent location for both experienced and inexperienced paddlers.
